Sr Proposal Manager
$100,700 to $135,500 per year
Purpose: The purpose of the Senior Proposal Manager position is to develop top quality business proposals designed with the Avolta excellence standards in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other business opportunities. This position is responsible for assisting with editorial, layout, and content of new business proposals and other requests for information from our business partners.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates proposal preparation, compliance assurance, and delivery of projects; ensures that proposals are completed, compliant, and submitted by deadlines
- Facilitates proposal strategies with key business stakeholders in the organization and business strategy meetings surrounding RFPs
- Assists in the design and development of business proposals, implementing comprehensive knowledge of Avolta standards, principles, and concepts; establishes a set of proposal brand protocols for future use
- Liaises with the Development team to create, review, and evaluate responses to RFPs
- Clarifies requirements and conditions of requests to stakeholders
- Researches and regards relevant industry market trends to follow leads regarding proposal forecasting opportunities
- Monitors project scope, proposed solutions, timelines, references, and terms
- Applies knowledge of industry leading proposal standards
- Manages graphics, design, word processing, printing, and delivery of accompanying presentations with internal and external partners and vendors
- Oversees process improvement opportunities in the proposal lifecycle
Reporting Relationship: The Senior Proposal Manager reports into the Director of Proposal Management
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

Education and Experience: The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 6 years:
- In a leadership role: Requires 2 years of experience supervising a team of professionals engaged in executing proposal development programs

In a technical role: Requires 6-8 years of business development experience engaged in developing and delivering proposal development programs
- A bachelor’s degree in a program related to the functional area can count for 3 of the 6-year requirement
- An MBA or a master’s level degree in a program related to the functional area can count for an additional 2 years of 6-year requirement
- In the industry: 3-5 years of Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail experience
- Demonstrated experience leading $100M+ proposal efforts

Specialized Training:
- Training that leads to an in-depth understanding of the of industry proposal practices

Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits
- Extensive experience with proposal responses to RFPs; project management experience strongly preferred
- Requires demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as various graphics software
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; technical writing experience a plus
- Ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities while managing multiple projects
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for attention to detail
- Business acumen and also has the mindset required to understand the long-term implications of proposal management planning and to advance the organizations goals
- Demonstrated history of understanding the needs of the business, stakeholders, the employee population and individual circumstances
- Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environments through coaching, developing, and leading teams to achieve common goals

Location/Travel:
- This position is based at the F&B Center of Excellence in Bethesda, MD
- This position requires up to 15% travel to airport locations
