Purpose The Director IT Procurement manages and maintains all aspects of IT Finance within the IT Organization. This role oversees operating expenses and capital budgeting, product life cycle management and procurement and develops financial strategy, guidance and governance of strategic projects.

Essential Functions

  • Develops and drives annual budgetary process for capital and operating expenses; prepares monthly budgeting reports, forecast expense categories and identifies overages in advance
  • Seeks all funding approvals from regional and global committees (RIC & GIC ICOM)
  • Partners on business case development alongside PM and IT Leadership SME; provides financial analysis and support on complex decisions
  • Performs cost analysis and recommends process improvements for cost-effectiveness; establishes process, controls and metrics to manage financial components
  • Drives savings and maximizes value by identifying opportunities to mitigate risk, leverage organizational spend, and support negotiated programs
  • Oversees procurement of IT services, software and equipment and issues purchase orders; oversees all invoicing review and approval in Basware
  • Develops and executes strategic capital budget planning activities and manages project spend
  • Tracks project spend forecast to deliverables, identifies and captures reported savings or overages
  • Enforces financial processes (fixed maintenance allocation, project chargebacks, new work order process)
  • Develops best practices to enhance operational performance and productivity for IT product lifecycle
  • Handles negotiations and manages all IT contracts; manages vendor relationships including procurement and account management
  • Maintains cross-functional relationship with finance to review financial status, address variances and inconsistencies
  • Partners with accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure communication with vendors in a timely manner; addresses financial issues and inquiries from internal partners and vendors
  • Performs account reconciliation of vendor statements on periodic basis

Reporting relationship

  • The Director IT Procurement reports to the CIO North America

  • Departments: Finance, Global IT

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment

Education and Experience

  • The combination of education and professional experience must exceed 8 years:
  • In a leadership role: Requires 3 years of experience leading a team of IT procurement professionals
  • In a technical role: Requires 8 years of experience engaged in IT procurement and budgeting
  • A bachelor’s degree in a program related to the functional area can count for 3 of the eight-year requirement
  • An MBA or a master’s level degree in a program related to the functional area can count for an additional 2 years of the eight-year requirement
  • In the industry: Hospitality, F&B and/or Retail experience 3-5 years

Specialized Training

  • Training that leads to an in-depth understanding of IT procurement and budgeting

Specialized Skillset/Competencies/Traits

  • Business acumen and also has the mindset required to understand the long-term implications of procurement within an IT organization and to advance the organization goals
  • Demonstrated history of understanding the needs of the business, stakeholders, the employee population and individual circumstances
  • Demonstrated history of creating and maintaining positive work environments through coaching, developing, and leading teams to achieve common goals

  • Location: Requires regular/hybrid attendance in F&B Center of Excellence in Bethesda or Retail Center of Excellence in East Rutherford
